SBI PO 26th July 2015 MAINS Exam Analysis

State bank of India (SBI) has conducted the SBI PO MAINS Examination on 26th of July 2015 for all those candidates who had earlier qualified their Preliminary examination and called for the mains examination.
There were 200 questions in the Objective paper (4 sections of 50 questions each) which was later followed by the Descriptive Exam.

Below is the analysis of each section:-

Reasoning section Analysis of SBI PO Mains 2015 —
Questions from Data Sufficiency, Statement and Argument, Higher Reasoning, Input & output, Comparison of rank, Syllogism, Puzzles, all formed a part of this section. Puzzles were difficult, Input/Output was also difficult but Syllogism was doable, Critical Reasoning was easy. The overall difficulty level of this section was moderate.

General Awareness/Computer/Marketing —
This section consisted of questions from Static G.K. (Banking), Current Affairs, Computer Awareness and Marketing. The Questions were mainly from the current happening of 3-4 months but also included some static questions. The Marketing questions were analytical and the computer part was doable. Overall this section was easy.

Data Analysis and Interpretation —
This section was heavily dominated by the questions revolving around percentages. Questions from Line Graph, Bar Graph, Pie Chart and Table were asked in this section. Questions from Quadratic Equations were there. As compared to the last year’s SBI PO Exam, this section was lengthier and more difficult.

English Language —
Overall this was moderate. The section comprised of questions based on Antonyms/Synonyms, Error Spotting, Reading Comprehension, FIB (2 blanks), Para-jumbles and Cloze test. The difficulty level of the Reading Comprehensions was difficult to moderate. The 10 blanks cloze test was a tad bit difficult. The difficulty level of Error spotting, FIB and Para jumbles was easy to moderate.

Descriptive Paper:-

The Descriptive paper includes just two questions, one was Letter Writing & the other was Essay Writing. It was mainly based on the current happenings of the world. The descriptive paper was a real test for the students as they have to type their answers.

Below are the letters and essays asked in the Exam —

Letter:

  • Write a letter to the bank manager to share an innovative idea on File management system in banks
  • Write a letter to the newspaper editor on how to stop crime in city
  • Write a letter to your old teacher to thank him/her for making you a good human being

Essay:

  • Pros and cons of ‘one rank one pension’ scheme
  • Over-dependence on monsoon for farmers
  • Ethical problems of e-commerce
