The exam pattern of SBI PO consists of three phases –
Phase — I: Preliminary Examination

Prelims Exam will consist of fewer questions and of shorter duration. The marks of Prelims exam will not be considered for preparing the final merit list. So, the Prelims Exam requires extra bit of strategy for cracking maximum number of question in limited time frame.

Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.

State Bank of India (SBI) has conducted On-line written PRELIMS Exam for the post of probationary officers on 20,21,27,28th June 2015. More than 20 lakh candidates applied and appeared for the SBI PO Prelim 2015 Exam. SBI had conducted Probationary officer Main Exams on 26 July 2015 at various centres in the country. The SBI PO 2015 MAINS Examination has been attended by only those candidates who had qualified SBI PO Prelims 2015 Exam held in June 2015.
The State Bank of India conducted the On-line Preliminary examination for the recruitment of Probationary Officer posts across the country on 20th and 21st of June 2015. The Online preliminary examination was conducted in four slots in a day i.e. total of 8 sessions. This is the first time that SBI has conducted its prelims exam.
