Overview: IBPS has released the notification of IBPS CWE (Common Written Examination) III Specialist Officer Exam for the recruitment of Specialist Officer Vacancies in public sector banks which is scheduled to be held in the second week of February 2014. IBPS CWE III 2014 Exam Pattern: INSTITUTE OF BANKING PERSONNEL SELECTION (IBPS) SPECIALIST OFFICER 2014 EXAM PATTERN is different for Scale 1 and Scale 2 Officers although both category exam patterns touch the four major subjects which are as follows:

CATEGORY A). For Law Officer (Scale 1 and Scale 2) and Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale 1) following are the four major subjects outlining the exam pattern:

  • Reasoning
  • English Language
  • General Awareness or Knowledge (special focus on Banking Industry)
  • Professional Knowledge

CATEGORY B). For IT Officer (Scale 1 & 2), Agricultural Field officer (Scale 1), HR/Personnel Officer (Scale 1), Marketing officer (Scale 1), Technical Officer (Scale 1), Chartered Accountant (Scale 2) and Finance Executive (Scale 2) exam pattern will outline the following four major subjects:

  • Reasoning
  • English Language
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Professional Knowledge

BELOW IS THE STRUCTURE OF IBPS SPECIALIST OFFICER (SO) 2014 EXAM PATTERN FOR CATEGORY A MENTIONED ABOVE:

BELOW IS THE STRUCTURE OF IBPS SPECIALIST OFFICER (SO) 2014 EXAM PATTERN FOR CATEGORY B MENTIONED ABOVE:

 There is a categorization in subjects for Category A and Category B mentioned above and the only difference is in Category A there is a section of General Awareness which is not present for category B and on the other hand category B has quantitative aptitude section which is missing in the exam pattern of Category A. Despite, these differences the total number of Questions will be 200 only and the composite time allotted to every candidate for attempting the paper is 2 hours or 120 minutes only. The above tests except the section of English Language will be available bilingually i.e. English and Hindi.

 Negative Marking –>

There will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer. The candidates are advised that they must ensure about the correct answer while marking the answer. If any question is left blank, there will no negative marking for that question.

Minimum Cut off Marks –>

The marks obtained by each candidate in respective section will be normalized using Equi-percentile method. Each candidate will have to score a minimum number of marks in each test and also on total to be considered to be called for interview. If the standard score of the candidate is in fraction it will be round off to the nearest integer. Merely passing in individual sections may not be sufficient as candidates should score high on total in order of merit to be called for interview.

    Also, I had a query..about minimum passing criteria..If I cleared in all sections and overall also..(Just cleared the minimum criteria) and there’s another guy who has scored pretty well in written exam but at the same time my interview went better than him..who’s chances are better at selection.

  8. I have completed mba from guru jambeshwar university, HISAR .Though the classes were regular but it is a distance mode mba, but it is not written on marksheets.the mba was of 3 yrs and 6 semesters. So i am confused whether I can apply for IBPS SPECIALIST OFFICER(marketing) or not .
